Leadership Development through WA Police Rangers

The WA Police Rangers program is a fantastic opportunity for young people aged between 12 and 17 to engage in exciting activities while also gaining valuable life skills. This program, which operates in selected secondary schools across Western Australia, is endorsed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority of Western Australia and allows participants to earn points towards their WACE.

One of the key aspects of the Police Rangers program is its focus on leadership development. By participating in activities such as adventurous training, camping, hiking, and sporting activities, young people are able to develop essential leadership and life skills. These activities not only promote teamwork and cooperation but also instil a sense of community responsibility and service among the participants.

The WA Police Rangers program is part of the larger Cadets WA initiative, which aims to build positive relationships between young people and the Western Australia Police Force. With over 9,500 participants in more than 190 cadet units state wide, the program relies on approximately 1100 volunteer instructors to mentor and guide the young participants.

Through the WA Police Rangers program, young people have the opportunity to not only engage in fun and challenging activities but also to develop important leadership skills that will benefit them in all areas of their lives. By fostering a sense of community and service, the program helps to shape the leaders of tomorrow.
